Somayagya 2010 - 9 days to go
...am
sure this time Maha Soma Yagya will bring peace, prosperity
on this earth. Not only to human beings but to every living
creature on this earth. -
Vaidya Jaggi, New Delhi

Namaste to all,
On the 14th of April the Vedic new year has commenced as the sun
has entered the constellation of
Ashwini, the 1st
constellation in the Vedic sky. On the 11th lunar day of
this month which is also called Ekadasi we will begin this
Mahayagya with our prayer that it may radiate more light
for the entire globe so there may be less suffering for all
and more bliss for all.
One might wonder how can such an event
actually have an effect upon the entire planet, we were very
happy to get the
writings of Shri Kailashnath a renowned
traditional Jyotish (Vedic astrologer) on this subject.

Scientific
Research of Yagya
We are happy to share with all that we will be having a
team coming to conduct scientific research during the yagya
performance to observe what is actually happening and how
can the effect be described in the light of quantum physics.
The measurements will be conducted by a PhD scholar from
SVYASA University in
Bangalore under the supervision of
Dr. Alex Hanckey who received his doctorate from
Massachusetts Institure of Technology and presently is the executive editor
of the Journal of Ayurveda and
Integrative Medicine.

"The experiment is part of the
Princeton Random
Number Generator Experiment to investigate Global
Consciousness, or more generally Collective Consciousness,
conducted partly in collaboration with the
Institute of Noetic
Sciences.
It attempts to detect and measure effects of conscious
intention, or other powerful consciousness effects on local
and global environments." - Dr. Alex Hanckey.
Soma Sounds

One of the most important aspects of Yagyas
are the sounds that have been handed down for thousands of
years and before from father to son, from master to student.
UNESCO have initiated a program to protect the tradition of
Vedic chanting as they have seen it's immense value to
humanity. We have recently put
a few recordings online from the Somayagya held in
Hyderabad in 2003 online for all to enjoy.
Yagya Shala
Construction Begins

Amidst beautiful cool and cloudy skies the construction
of the main Yagya Shala has commenced. The design is an
ancient one that has not changed for thousands of years,
natural materials only are used and in ancient times at the
end of the Soma Yagya the entire main yagyashala would be
burnt as a final sign of completion. Construction is done by
a local team of traditional structure builders under the
supervision of the head pundit.
Soma Yagyas
and their effect

"In 2003 I attended a Somayagya in Hyderabad performed by
the same family who will be performing the 2010 Somayagya. I
arrived innocent with very little background knowledge on
Somayagyas and their effects. Subsequently during the
proceedings I had an inner observation of the effect and
process that was happening as the fire and sound was
churning to produce a very special effect. In that
perception I viewed the Yagyashala itself as a kind of
Purusha or conscious embodiment that was a symbol of the
Purusha within each of us the living consciousness that
makes us "alive". The procedures of the days seemed to churn
and work with that life force and move it higher into higher
frequencies of spin.
The outer ritual was nothing but a representation of the
inner churning of our own evolution moving our awareness
from lower survival and instinctive behavior to total Divine
surrender and mergence. On the last day of the Soma Yagya
symbolically all the proceedings are taken to a river and
offered. All people enter the river as the offering is made
by the pundits from a boat. At this moment I got an inner
insight how this was the final completion of human evolution
where the kundalini has reached the crown of the head and is
now plugged in totally to the source of the creation. This
is ultimately the purpose of the human body and the purpose
of human birth the more we can understand this the more we
can create a Divine planet for all and beyond."

A heartfelt
thank you!
We wish to thank all those who contributed as so far for
the Somayagya. It makes the event even more special to know
that people around the world have contributed so
that this special light can be lit. We had some special
contributions of some of the yagya materials required and
also very kind donations of voluntary time from a number of people. We
know that in this case giving is receiving but we will keep
custom and extend thanks. We also ask all who contributed
and asked to be included for a specific purpose to
let us
know after the Somayagya if they feel any improvements
in the matter they had wanted to focus on.
If anyone wishes to donate thus
please do so
online.
